How do you fancy putting pedal to the metal to raise money for Midlands Air Ambulance? If so, join the service at its annual Go Karting Day on 15th September 2013 at Tamworth Karting in Priory Park.
The charity is looking for teams of five to take part in a two hour endurance race and compete for the coveted title of ‘Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Champion’. The race is open to anyone over the age of 16, so if you fancy a bit of healthy competition between work colleagues, friends or family, this is a great way to test your skill on the track and raise money for an extremely worthwhile charity.
The registration fee for the main race is just £180 per team with proceeds from the day going to help save lives across the six counties covered by the service, including Staffordshire, Shropshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.
Jason Levy, fundraising and marketing director for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, states: “We’re really looking forward to our annual karting event as there’s nothing like a bit of competitive spirit to make a fundraising day go well! If you fancy competing against our aircrew team for the title and helping us to raise money for our vital life saving service, then I’d encourage you to get in touch as places for the race are limited.”
The actual aircraft from the Tatenhill airbase will also be based at the event and will be operational throughout the day.
In addition, there will be a bouncy castle, face painting and the charity’s mascot Maac to keep the kids entertained and a pay and drive session for under 16’s. There will also be a charity raffle with money can’t buy prizes, a display of fast cars and the chance to be taken around the Tamworth Karting track in a rally car for just £5 per person.
